NSA Connects – Intersectionality: Experiences of PWS from Multiple Marginalized Communities
October 13, 2020 @ 8:30 pm - 9:45 pm EDT
People who stutter (PWS) often face societal stigma for stuttering. However, people with multiple marginalized identities (due to their race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, culture, etc.) must also navigate the impact their intersecting identities have on their experiences, perceptions, and opportunities as people who stutter. Tiffani Kittilstved and Derek Daniels will lead this session to include a panel and open discussion where participants can ask questions and share their personal experiences, either being multiply marginalized and/or as an ally. Join us for a critical discussion.
In these unique and sometimes difficult days that are governed by social distancing and time at home, we hope that you will join us for these free sessions to learn, inspire, and connect with the larger stuttering community to share, learn, and socialize in ways we aren’t able to experience in person right now. Each session focuses on a specific theme of interest to those in the community.
