Managing people always has its fair set of challenges, but leading a team as a person who stutters adds another layer of complexity to the fold. In this webinar, our panelists are all people who stutter who also manage teams. You’ll learn how they managed anxiety and communication to advance their careers.
This panel is moderated by Derek Mitchell, Senior IT Service Strategy Analyst at Westrock and Christopher Monello, Senior Marketing Manager at Scientific American Magazine. Heather Najman, MS, MA, LMFT, SEP, has been a part of the stuttering community for more than 30 years serving in roles such as NSA/ISA workshop presenter, NSA Chapter Co-Leader, and as part of the co-hosting team on Stutter Social. As a psychotherapist, she consults and works with individuals and families, with a focus on resilience, stress, shame, anxiety, and trauma, including dealing with the emotional effects of stuttering. She is excited to finally cross over and share her somatic approach with the stuttering community.
Carl Coffey has been actively involved in the stuttering community for the last 8 years. After joining his first chapter meeting back in 2013, he was ignited by the sense of community and support offered by the NSA. He became a chapter leader back in 2016 in Virginia Beach and now serves on the NSA’s Board of Directors. Professionally, he works as a consultant advising health care companies on best practices in adapting process improvement and reporting standards to increase effectiveness. He loves any opportunity to increase stuttering awareness and support, both inside of the stuttering community and beyond.
