NSA Connects: Early Childhood Stuttering

May 29 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Promotional image for an event on Early Childhood Stuttering featuring speaker Katie Winters, PhD, CCC-SLP. Join us on May 29, 2024, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM ET. Don't miss out—click the prominent "Register Now!" button!

Caregivers, speech-language pathologists, and other early childhood professionals often have distinct questions and goals for young children near the onset of stuttering. The way in which we engage with these questions and goals has the potential to shape young children’s early experiences with stuttering.

This session seeks to foster an open dialogue about caregiver-child relationships and clinical practice for younger children who stutter.

Join Katie Winters from the University of Cincinnati for a guided discussion of recent research in early childhood stuttering and related clinical applications. Your experiences, questions, and reflections are welcome and encouraged in this interactive discussion.

This session is hosted by the NSA Professional Relations Committee (Courtney Margulis, Jodi Reinstein, Megan Young, Caitlin Franchini).

Katie Winters, PhD, CCC-SLP is an assistant professor at the University of Cincinnati and the director of the Stuttering and Social Cognition Lab. In addition to working with children who stutter and their families through her research and community programming, she consults with speech-language pathologists supporting children who stutter.
