Meetings are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month* from 6:30-8:00PM. *Email to confirm meeting date, as some months meeting may change based on the university schedule.

We know that attending your first NSA Chapter meeting might be a little intimidating so we’ve tried to answer some of your questions! We know once you get there, you’ll be greeted by Chapter Leaders who have been in your shoes before and are happy to welcome you!
Depends on the chapter type, adults who stutter make up the majority of our attendees but we also welcome family members, Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) and anyone with a special interest in stuttering!
Your Chapter Leader may prepare a topic for the meeting or might open the floor for discussion and see where things go. Some chapters may also host social events outside of the traditional chapter meeting. The magic of the NSA is just being among other people who stutter, building connections, and having fun while doing it! NSA Chapters give people who stutter, their families and SLPs, a chance to connect and have fun-filled experiences together!
While you don’t need to RSVP before attending, it’s always a good idea to reach out to the Chapter Leader(s) before the meeting to let them know you’re coming. We love knowing who to look for at a meeting!

Chapter Leaders are the backbone of the NSA! They are active members of the stuttering community and have a passion for improving the lives of people who stutter and their families. Hear what they have to say about being involved in the NSA!
My biggest piece of advice for people who stutter is to find your stuttering people! Get involved in your local NSA Chapter, attend NSA events, be a part of online stuttering groups. The NSA has been life changing for me because I've found life long friends who I can go to during hard stuttering days and who have made my life so much richer!
I was inspired to become an NSA Chapter Leader because I found support groups to be such a powerful way for PWS to connect, support one another, and feel validated about their experiences of dealing with stuttering in a world that largely doesn't accept it as another way of speaking. The support group has always been good to me, therefore I would like to provide that space for others who can benefit from it as well!
I felt inspired to become a Chapter Leader after attending an NSA conference to learn more about stuttering. I left with a desire to connect those that stutter in my community so they truly did not feel alone in their journey.
I felt so welcomed at my first ever NSA chapter meeting. I knew I wanted to help others facing the same hardships as I once did.
