Steve Ernst is person who stutters and is highly passionate about building community in his social circles. Over the last ten years, he has been involved in youth groups, college small groups, and the NSA, seeking to create environments where true friendship and trust can be found.
Graduating from the University of Maryland in 2014, Steve jumped into serving as a campus missionary with the Catholic non-profit FOCUS. His 4 years in this role pushed him to step up to speak every day and not allow a stutter to interfere with his mission and goals. In 2018, Steve moved into an event planner role with FOCUS, helping to plan annual conferences averaging 15,000 attendees and other smaller events.
Within the National Stuttering Association, Steve began attending the annual conference in 2011 and has since been involved with the NSA Radio Show, NSA TwSt Live, and chapters in Maryland and Colorado. Steve was the recipient of the 2013 Youth of the Year Award.
